Meningococcal Vaccine

All Penn State students residing in on-campus housing are required by state law to submit a Meningococcal Vaccination Certification form online through University Health Services. This requirement must be completed prior to check-in.

The state law requiring the vaccination is a part of the College and University Student Vaccination Act. Governor Mark Schweiker and the Pennsylvania State Legislature passed the act in June 2002.

To live on campus, students are required by state law to submit the Meningococcal Vaccination Certification form online, indicating they have complied through one of the following options:

  • Received a meningococcal vaccination through a health care provider of University Health Services
  • Elect to choose an exemption which confirms they have made an informed decision to not receive the meningococcal vaccination.

To move into on-campus housing, students who have not yet submitted a form must do so prior to check-in. The form will remain on file until your departure from Penn State.
