Amenities
Penn State Housing, Food Services, and Residence Life takes great pride in providing modern and convenient accommodations. Each residence hall room has TV cable and Internet connections and is equipped with single beds and mattresses, desks and chairs, bookshelves, chests of drawers, bulletin boards, trash can, refrigerator / freezer / microwave unit, draperies, closets, mirror, overhead light, and smoke detector.
Each residence area contains special features of its own. However, the following are standard features in all residence halls:
Bike Storage
Bike storage is provided in each residence hall area. With your roommate's permission, you may store your bike in your room. Bikes are not permitted in lounges, laundries, hallways, bathrooms, or other public areas. A limited number of outside bike lockers are available for rent in most residence areas.
Cable and Internet Access
Included in your room rate is a multi-station cable service that provides a large selection of popular channels. Each residence hall room is cable ready, but students must supply their own television. Internet connections are also provided in your room. For assistance connecting to the Internet, please visit the ResCom (Residential Computing) Web site.
Electronic Card Access System
The electronic card access system is in service 24 hours a day and your Penn State id+ Card is the only means by which you can enter your own residence hall. Additional security is provided by University Police and student security patrols.
Laundry Facilities
Each residence hall area is equipped with complete laundry facilities for residents use only.
Mail Delivery Service
Each residence hall area provides mail delivery service. Both campus mail and U.S. mail are guaranteed prompt delivery and distribution. Stamps can be purchased from U.S. Postal Service vending machines located in the commons areas.
Meeting Rooms
Each residence hall area houses recreation rooms, which can be reserved by residents and registered campus student organizations for meetings and social events.

Student Leadership Opportunities
Campus residents are invited to take active roles in their residence hall area government: the Association for Residence Hall Students (ARHS), South Halls Residence Association, East Halls Residence Association, North Halls Residence Association, West Halls Residence Association, and Pollock/Nittany Residence Halls Association. Contact your residence hall coordinator for more information.
Telephone
Telephone service is provided to each room, but you are responsible for bringing your own phone and cord. Long-distance calls must be made by using a commercial calling card or your individual Personal Security Code (PSC) issued by campus telecommunication services. Long-distance calls are billed individually. Options such as distinctive ringing, call waiting, cancel call waiting, last number redial, automatic call back, speed calling, and three-way calling are standard telephone features.
