Getting Around
University Park is a big campus, so traveling to and from classes and other places may take some time. To get to a destination more quickly, some students choose to use their bicycle, or a University-provided bus system. Loop and Link buses are free and conveniently travel throughout campus. CATA buses also cover campus, in addition to State College and Bellefonte. Students can utilize CATA bus service for a reasonable fee.
Bicycle racks are located outside residence halls and near academic buildings as well as in the University Apartments communities. With your roommate's permission, you may store your bicycle in your residence hall room or apartment. If you wish to store your bicycle for prolonged periods, contact the Housing manager for a bicycle locker. Do not hang bicycles from hooks inside your room or apartment because this will damage the walls.
Bicycle Registration
Bicycles must be registered and display a current Centre Region registration sticker. Bicycles can be registered at the Parking Office in 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck or at either of the information kiosks on campus. You can also register your bicycle at the tent in front of Eisenhower Auditorium during arrival week or at the White Course Apartments-sponsored bicycle rodeo held in early summer. Registration is free. Be sure to have your id+ card or valid driver's license with you to register your bicycle.
Skateboards and In-line Skates
Skateboards are not permitted on campus. Wearing of in-line and roller skates is prohibited inside all University buildings.
Parking
Students are permitted to have cars on campus but must register their vehicle and obtain a permit at the Parking Office.
