Supplemental Housing Roommates
East Halls is the largest residence hall complex on campus, with the 14 coed residence halls housing first-year students, who share double rooms with one roommate. Supplemental housing is available in every building.
Viewsample floor plans for each building (measurements areapproximate; size and shape of rooms may vary; floor plans not to scale):
- Bigler, Curtin, Geary, and Packer
- Brumbaugh, Pinchot, Sproul, and Tener
- Hastings, McKean, Pennypacker, Snyder, Stone, and Stuart
Bigler, Brumbaugh, Pinchot, Sproul, Tener, and Hastings are designated coed on the floor - both genders are assigned to sections of the floor and each gender has a designated restroom to use on the floor. An exception is Tri-ROTC in Brumbaugh - that space is single gender on the floor.
Curtin, Geary, Packer, McKean, Pennypacker, Snyder, and Stuart are designated coed by the floor - one gender is assigned to a floor, with genders varying by floor. There is one bathroom per floor.
In the center of the East Halls complex is the Findlay/Johnston Commons Building. Findlay/Johnston offers a commons desk, computer lab, a branch of the Penn State Bookstore, a ResCom office, East Halls Residence Hall Association office, and a Cultural Lounge as well as lounges available for programming and studying.
Covered walkways lead from the residence halls to Findlay/Johnston Commons. In addition to Findlay Dining Commons, an all-you-care-to-eat operation, several food service facilities are located in East Halls, including Good2Go (a convenience store), Roxy's (á la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner), Fresh Express (á la carte lunch and dinner), and The Big Onion (a pizza and sub shop).
Within a short walking distance are Bryce Jordan Center, Beaver Stadium, intramural fields, and the Ag Arena. Located on the second floor of Johnston, the central office for Residence Life and the Assignment Office are available for students who need assistance.
East Halls features several Special Living Options:
