All Penn State students residing in on-campus housing, including all residence halls and apartments, are required by state law to submit a Meningococcal Vaccination Certification form online through University Health Services' secure website.
The form must be completed prior to check-in.
The state law requiring the vaccination is a part of the College and University Student Vaccination Act. Former Governor Mark Schweiker and the Pennsylvania State Legislature passed the act in June 2002.
If a student lives on campus, they are required by state law to complete and submit the Meningococcal Vaccination Certification form, which can be found on the University Health Services site. You will need to identify compliance through one of the following options:
- Received a meningococcal vaccination through a health care provider or University Health Services.
- They are electing to choose an exemption which confirms they have made an informed decision to not receive the meningococcal vaccination.
To move into a residence hall or apartment, students who have not yet submitted a form must do so at check-in. Students are only required to submit the form once.
